Localisation and the UK economy

We, in the UK, are no longer the centre of the universe.

I know this statement will shock some of my compatriots but it’s true. We are in a financial mess -our government is paying out more money than it’s collecting in; we are attached to Europe and our economy (especially our banking sector) is vulnerable to the financial shocks from the Eurozone.

So what do we need to do to grow financially? As a nation we are good at many things – great news about the expansion to the Nissan plant on Teesside. We need more growth, to sell abroad and boost our export market. But there is one thing we are definitely not good at, and that is localisation.
